The BBC chose last week to tackle one huge taboo subject (link) - that women can also be paedophile's.
This is NEVER spoken about even though their have been some stories where female teachers have had sex with under-age boys.
The section where people can put comments is particularly sad.
The key section is outlined below:
Steve Bevan, who for nearly two decades has run a support group for male victims of all forms of sexual abuse. Out of 18 men currently getting individual and group support, five say they were abused by women, three of them exclusively so.
Over the years we've had lots of men abused by mothers, sisters, aunties and baby sitters," says Mr Bevan. "It's hard enough for adult men to admit abuse but to admit to abuse by a woman is even harder because it challenges their masculinity, it challenges their sexuality.
Congratulations to the BBC for raising this story and perhaps we may start to get some balance and recognition for those who are victims. It's a long way behind recognition of the plight of male victims of domestic abuse but at least it has been raised.
Yes, it is good that the story appeared. But the BBC still censored the comments section, publishing only "a selection of comments" (their words). My true story was ignored, and I suspect I was not the only one. Why? It's not like they had a space constraint.

Impressive for the bbc, but doesn't quite get to the heart of the issue.
For example it states that 10% of paedophiles are female, but doesn't emphasis the fact that females are never under suspicion nor properly investigated thus it's likely there are many more than that. Whilst it regonises the stigma and lack of encouragement for victims to come forward it again fails to explain this is likely to have a huge impact on official figures. Further still, it doesn't' deal with false allegations faced by men thus again increasing the percentage of female paedophiles.
Worst of all while the article does recognise the incredible damage done to male victims, it fails to put this in the context of female sentencing discount, which would really illustrate how bad things are for the victims and how little protection they receive due to the gender of their abuser.

Yeah really nice blog. Many people not want to speak out about this topic.
Thanks,
John

I normally prefer reading news paper every day, but one fine day while checking my e-mails, one of my friends ping me your article. I wasn’t very keen in reading thinking that it would be a trash, but later after reading it I realized that I was wrong and your article was just out of the world. I should thank my friends now!!!
