As mentioned on Monday, BBC 2 have broadcast the first in a series of three called Who Needs Fathers tonight at 9pm.

The 'liberal' reviews of 'Who Needs Fathers?', in the 'Guardian' especially, but also in the 'Independent' are unable to see how fathers are routinely cruelly discriminated against by the courts, in relation to their children.

For the 'Guardian' male reviewer, it's merely the excuse for a bit of a joke:

For the 'Independent', it's a 'one-off' case-study which does not necessarily represent much to the reviewer

The deep-seated discrimination against fathers is not understood, yet again.

The 'Telegraph' reviewer, James Walton, at least raises a key question:

..." 'Who Needs Fathers?' was better at showing us what happened than at analysing it. We never learned, for example, how Thomas [the mother in a case] can get away with her apparent disregard for court orders."
