MALE VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ON BBC'S WOMEN'S HOUR

On Thursday, there was a debate on Radio 4's Women's Hour about male victims of domestic violence. Ian McNicholl was on as was Mark Brooks from the ManKind Initiative.

NEW BOOK - VENUS: THE DARK SIDE by ROY SHEPPARD AND MARY CLEARY

Roy Sheppard (former BBC TV and radio presenter) apprd and Mary Cleary (founder of Ireland's excellent Amen Project) have written a book on female predators called Venus: The Dark Side.

In addition, there is a youtube channel and also a dedicated web-site.

The book on how unscrupulous women do it. Helpful to men and fascinating to women, Venus: The Dark Side catalogues for the first time, how unscrupulous women attack innocent men, women (primarily mothers against daughters) and children; physically, financially, psychologically and even sexually. And in so many cases, they know how to get away with it. But how do you recognise their covert behaviour? How can you tell if she is preying on YOU?

Venus: The Dark Side is a practical guide on how to recognise the signs and provides detailed help and advice on what you can do (and NOT do) to extricate yourself from her clutches. Already described as Required reading for all young men today , the book also includes a Due Diligence Checklist to limit the risks of marrying one of these women. This checklist is equally valuable to women. With a UK divorce rate at 57%, anyone planning to marry would be well advised to study it.

 And what about the men who are already married to one of the women described in this book what can they expect when it comes to the divorce? The authors offer detailed protection strategies. 

 

HARMAN'S NATIONAL CURRICULUM PLEDGE PSYCHOLOGICALLY DAMAGES BOYS AND IGNORES 40% OF THE DV VICTIMS

Without wanting to jump on the anti-Harriet bandwagon quite yet - the week is still young, I think it is important to dwell on the issue raised in the Daily Mail today (an amazing 160 comments in the debate section) where they revealed that the Government has declared that as part of Violence Against Women strategy pupils as young as five will be taught about the evils of 'wife beating'. This is to form part of the national curriculum and as the article says, there will be nothing on violence against men.

The article is balanced and points out the fact that more and more women are being arrested for violence which is in addition to the point raised earlier this week that more mothers are violent towards their daughter than men are.

One of the issues worth raising is the fact that its underlying theme of telling boys and girls that all boys are violent towards women, the height of Marxist Feminist thinking,  will give all boys a guilt complex -  "Mummy, my teacher says I will be a wife beater when I grow up". How will any women form a relationship with a man if she thinks we are all wifebeaters. It is straight out of George Orwell and is designed to further psychologically undermine boys and men.

The other issue is that when 40% of victims of domestic abuse aremale, those men of the future as well as those suffering now, are purposely and hideously ignored by the Government. It is almost as if they do not exist.

Any course telling people, and certainly it is inappropriate for children to be indoctrinated at such an early age, should be saying that all violence is wrong but also any violence by a woman on a man is as equally as wrong as the other way around.

To only state one gender is completely factually wrong and is biased and shows clearly the anti-male, one-eyed nature of this Government and Harriet Harman. She really does want to grind men into the dust, from the age of 5.

NSPCC FIGURES SHOW GIRLS MORE LIKELY TO BE PHYSICALLY ABUSED BY THEIR MOTHERS

In yesterday's post, the NSPCC's Childline report (What Boys Talk To Childline About) on the increase in calls by boys was reviewed. However, there was one section that was worthy of a separate post.

On pages 10 and 11, the section on physical abuse revealed that:-

(1) Boys said that 39% of perpetrators were fathers and 28% mothers

(2) Girls said that 37% of perpetrators were mothers and 25% fathers

In terms of sexual abuse (pages 12-14):-

(3) Boys said that 21% of perpetrators of sexual abuse were fathers, 18% mothers (no figures for girl callers which is unfortunate as that would have added balance)

The reason why these figures are significant is two fold:-

Firstly, the anti-male domestic violence industry would have it that women do not attack men, only the other way around. All those that disagree are delusional, well, they are not. Violence against men also occurs in the mother- boy relationship as well as the wife-husband relationship.

In addition, it is worth noting how close these figures are. The ratio of 39% to 28% is 60% fathers/40% mothers).

The same is for sexual abuse, the ratio of 21% fathers to 18% mothers is 54%/46%, again much closer than the propaganda against fathers would suggest.

Secondly, the figures are significant because propaganda always show a father hitting their daughter when the facts show it is more likely to be the other way around. The most infamous is the Barnado's advert, the most complained about advertisement of last year (link) which shows a father repeatedly hitting his daughter.

So ingrained is the anti-male culture we live in, that charity's like Barnados and others who always show the man as the physical aggressor on girls can't be bothered about letting truth get in the way of another piece of anti-male stereotyping.

 

IRISH PRESIDENT HAPPY TO ACKNOWLEDGE MALE VICTIMS SO WHY NOT THE UK GOVERNMENT

In an article in the Irish Times at the weekend Ireland's President, Mary McAleese, 'called on the Irish people to be “nosy neighbours” so as to ensure an end to domestic abuse of the old, the young, women and men.'

Please note the last word in the quote.

Obviously the Irish President believes that all victims of domestic violence should be mentioned in any coverage of the issue (she obviously takes note of the excellent Amen Project). When is the last time you have ever seen a member of the UK Government mention men as victims of domestic violence in such an unprompted way. Never.

Christian J narrates how the 2006 Australian Bureau of Statistics Personal Safety Survey completely contradicted the Government’s 1996 survey. He also points to the attempts by feminist bureaucrats to manipulate by having ONLY female interviewers to bias the results. Results show women twice as safe as men. HIDDEN TABOO OF MALE VICTIMS OF FORCED MARRIAGE REVEALED

In new guidance produced by the UK Department of Children Schools and Families on the prevalence of forced marriage within Britain's Asian community has revealed that 20% of victims are male.

The figures (see page 26 of the guidance) show that during 2008 there were 1,325 known cases out of 7,750.

In many ways, this is a similar position to the one that male victims of domestic violence find themselves in. It is under-reported and nearly all of the information provided is aimed at female victims.The stereotype is that only females can be victims and men cannot be.

 Though the Forced Marriage Unit and the excellent Karma Nirvana charity help men, it is clear from the figures that nothing much is being done on the ground in local councils to help. 

This can be seen by the sample of four council's involved in the research which shows that a mere 4% of victims they report are male but the Forced Marriage Unit reported 14% and Karma Nirvana reported 43% (the guidance has produced an estimate of 20% taking into account these statistics). It shows that nationally based support systems show a higher prevalence than those on the ground, which means local council's once again are ignoring male victims in their community and are in breach of the Gender Equality Duty.

Almost a re- run of the process by which Erin Pizzey’s pioneering work setting up refuges  was subverted by an ideology which refuses to recognise the need for support for a substantial number of men. Once again a pioneering woman, Jasvindher Sanghera of Karma Nirvana, responding to real human problems, shows up the prejudice of those who should be supporting people in need in their communities.

Thee one difference though is that whereas in the case of male victims of domestic violence, the perpetrators are nearly always female, in forced marriages, because of the patriarchal nature of Asian communities, it is likely that the men being forced into marriage are being forced by other men (male family members) within their community.

 

So the usual stereotype that only women can be victims has been proved here, as in the case of domestic violence, to be wrong. When will this Government stop putting domestic violence and now forced marriages under the remit of Stopping Violence against Women and Children and instead place it under the remit of Stopping Violence Against Everyone.

 

LEYTON MAN ATTACKS LACK OF HELP FOR MALE VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

This week's Waltham Forest Guardian features an article on David Hyatt who said that not enough was being done to help male victims.

He spoke about the two of the main problems - he was too embarrassed to report it and when in a separate incident, his then ex-partner attacked him on a bus, the police arrested him. The latter is of no surprise.

An all too common experience but that at least are becoming publicised more.

PINK VIDEO SHOWS HOW DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AGAINST A MAN IS SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE

The international pop star Pink's latest video for her song Please Don't Leave Me shows all what is wrong in the way that male victims of domestic violence are portrayed.

In the video which will have been broadcast all around the world, her boyfriend has an accident as he tries to leave her and she then keeps him hostage by carrying out extreme violence on him, including smashing his legs with a golf club. All in the name of popular entertainment.

In some ways it is similar to the infamous MFI advertisement where a man is slapped twice by a woman for leaving the toilet seat up (eventually banned by the Advertising Standards Authority) but in other ways the extreme violence is quite sickening.

If you had been a male victim of this type of violence from a girlfriend or wife, watching this video would be emotionally traumatic.

In addition, the outrage from the Equalities Commission, the Government and the Fawcett Society would be (rightly) deafening if the gender roles were reversed.

The final point of course, is what goes through the sick mind of Pink, her management and the production company in thinking that this culturally acceptable (it is not a horror movie).

They thought it was acceptable to portray a man being attacked by a wife/girlfriend so much so they thought it was OK to produce a pop video about it.

That is the barrier that male victims face, some people don't understand what the problem is. Pink certainly doesn't.
