Heartedly, there are some areas of the UK that treat male victims of domestic violence sensibly and equally.
The Sunday Sun reported this week (link) that a number of councils such as Wear Valley, Blyth Valley and Stockton provide support.
Refuge support is needed of course but recognition will have to come first.
Oops I seem to have accidentally made it the top rated story on that site for this week.

These councils in the North should be commended. In viewing their Strategy and information it is clear that they have taken important steps in recognising both that men may be victims and that they are a "hard to reach" group. The important first steps are that helping services do try to reach male victims.
It is to try and prevent this first step that motivates lobby groups to oppose Gender neutral definitions. This is most obvious in Scotland where so much effort has been expended to advocate a gendered definition which then simply excludes the counting of men.
