I know it feels like pushing a milk churn endlessly uphill but some progress is being made on the quest for equality for men - it is just taking too long and the results are sporadic.
However, fair play must go to Virgin London Marathon therefore who announced this week that the two charities to be chosen as their official charities for 2012 were both the Prostate Cancer Charity and Breast Cancer Care. Turn the clock back five years and it is likely it would have just been the latter.
It shows that trying to ensure men get equality cannot be lost and also it has to be said the Prostate Cancer charity are superb in making sure this issue is not forgotten.
Now for the Cancer Research UK's Race for Life...

Always nice to see some good news on the blog.
I like how Virgin have combined the two issues, noting how they are the two most common forms of cancer in the UK:

I've seen other organisations supporting both male and female cancer issues before but they always pour ten times the resources into the latter campaign and give them ten times the money. Lets hope this is a case of true equality for once.

Just a reminder on the appaling statistics on cancer. Clearly the NHS should be focussing on this differnce in diagnosis and outcomes.
