I will be getting this for my local library. It reminds me of a play I saw in Wales in 2008 it derived to be picked up outside Wales . "PATRICK JONES' NEW PLAY "REVELATION" TACKLES SOCIAL TABOO: THE PLIGHT OF A MALE DOMESTIC ABUSE VICTIM In his new play, "Revelation" , Patrick Jones tackles the taboo subject of men as victims of domestic abuse. His brother is Manic Street Preachers' Nicky Wire. Patrick spent months researching the play and "Revelation" is based on over 40 interviews with men who have experienced domestic violence - it tells their stories in confronting this hidden taboo. The play tells the story of Dionne and Steve and charts Steve's journey from being an enthusiastic lover and father in to a shell of a man - psychologically tormented, tortured and physically abused by Dionne. The play follows Steve to the edge of existence. The soundtrack is by James Dean Bradfield. It will feature all original music created by James for the play. Patrick is a poet, playwright, human rights activist and filmmaker. His work includes the poetry collections The Guerilla tapestry. An exellent play deserving exposure outside Wales.
