Over a year ago Gloucestershire Police Authority had to pay compensation to male applicants who were turned as trainee police officers solely on the criteria that they were men (link). The police force broke the law with a secret policy of 'deselecting' more than 100 potential recruits for no other reason than being white men. They had to pay £2,100 to one man in compensation.
As quoted in the Daily Mail article above ,this followed on from Avon and Somerset's Police Authority decision in 2005 to reject 186 white applicants at the first stage of selection. In November 2005 the force received 800 applications for just 180 jobs. The force admitted they also deselected the applicants in a bid to increase its ethnic diversity.
Now as widely reported (link), (link), (link) and (link), Avon Fire Authority has held five Open recruitment days where for four of the days, white men were not allowed to attend.
There is something pernicious happening in the West Country when the authorities have embraced the anti-male feminist fundamentalist agenda hook, line and sinker. The authorities concerned are not apologetic about it and do not seem to think they had done anything wrong.
Whilst these abuses have been uncovered in this part of Engalnd, the burning question is where else is it happening?
