NEW BOOK SHOWS HOW FEMINISATION HAS DAMAGED BOYS EDUCATION

This site has raised the issue constantly about how the feminisation of education has blighted the educational chances of at least one to two generations of boys (link). The story is covered here (link) and (link).

In a new book,  Dr Leonard Sax has produced a book called Boys Adrift (link) which explains that boys are lagging behind at school because of a combination of lessons which suit girls better, over-exposure to video games and a decline in male role models.

Dr Sax, the US academic, is calling for single-sex lessons throughout primary and secondary school to allow boys to learn at their own pace. This site has called for single-sex lessons, single-sex schools and the re-introduction of O-levels to help boys achieve just like they used to.

The family court system of course has its part to play, as it seeks to take fathers out of their children;s lives especially when it creates an adversarial environment and a refusal to enforce child contact orders.

Again, when is the Government and the educational establishment going to do something about it?

When girls were behind they pulled out all the stoops but because it is boys, they do not care. Boys education is infected with political correctness and boys are bottom of the pile.

SEX DISCRIMINATION IN EDUCATION - BOYS PUNISHED FIVE TIMES MORE THAN GIRLS ALTHOUGH THEY MISBEHAVE AT THE SAME RATE

In ground-breaking research by Dr Jeremy Swinson, an honorary lecturer in educational psychology at Liverpool John Moores University has shown that boys are five times more likely to be told off in a primary school class than girls even though they are just as likely to misbehave.

They are also less likely to be praised or picked to answer a question, despite raising their hands just as often as girls.

As quoted in the Daily Telegraph (link), "The 'prejudiced' views of some teachers could be damaging boys' self-belief, it is feared, causing them to do badly at school. Dr Swinson said that this "prejudice" could explain why girls get better exam results than boys. "Perhaps some boys get disenchanted with lessons because they are being told off too much," he said.

This proves that the feminisation of education has damaged boys education. Already boys are far behind girls educationally since the move away from testing/exams (O-levels) to course based work (GCSE).

HOME AFFAIRS SELECT COMMITTEE - DOMESTIC VIOLENCE : SOME RECOGNITION OF MALE VICTIMS

Having viewed the first hearing of the Home Affairs Select Committee (link) on Domestic Violence, it is clear that the submissions made by groups about male victims has at least been recognised. Progress for male victims at last.

(02:00) - ACPO admit that male under-reporting is a problem;

(28:00) - CPS asked about the male victims in DV courts. The conclusion was that 11% of victims are men.

The above means there is clear under-reporting because men make up 40% of victims. The authorities need to do more to help men come forward.

ERIN PIZZEY CAMPAIGN TO HIGHLIGHT MALE VICTIMS

In an article for the Independent last week (link) Erin Pizzey outlined a questionnaire that she had created asking female perpetrators of domestic violence against men to speak about their experiences. It is featured at ifemininezone (link), a feminist on-line magazine that is gender neutral (i.e. it does not attack men and actually as a mens section)

Erin is a pioneer when it comes to domestic abuse, having set up the first refuge in the UK in the 1970S. Since then though, she has been an avowed campaigner for male victims and wrote this renowned paper on it (link). She is also a patron of The Mankind Initiative, a charity that helps male victims.

The tide is turning, albeit slowly, where the media are starting to turn the spotlight onto male victims. The interesting angle is that it is women who are having the most success in raising this issue then men.

US FEMINIST FUNDAMENTALISTS PARADE ANTI-MALE PREJUDICE DURING PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES

Often, the elites (the state, pressure groups and the media - especially the BBC) act with incredulity when anyone claims that there are strains of feminism (link) that are really about men-hating and demanding more rights for women than men. Anyone making this argument is normally shouted down under a barrage of abuse and warped statistics, it's like being in a 1980's student union meeting.

Well the cat is well and truly out of the bag now.

Oprah Winfrey, the US TV presenter, has been bombarded with messages by US men-haters solely because she believes Barack Obama would be a better President than Hilary Clinton. Such is the spite that she has been classed a traitor.

To quote the story in The Times (link) "It started with a message on her website entitled “Oprah is a traitor” and rapidly expanded to include several discussions that attracted hundreds of comments.

In the original post, a reader called austaz68 said she “cannot believe that women all over this country are not up in arms over Oprah’s backing of Obama. For the first time in history we actually have a shot at putting a woman in the White House and Oprah backs the black MAN. She’s choosing her race over her gender.” An interesting on-line debate also ensued in The Times.

Now if feminist fundamentalists truly believed in equality and meritocracy, then the gender and race of the next President would be irrelevant, it is the best person for the job.I am sure Oprah is backing Obama because she feels he is the best person.

The feminist fundamentalists just want a woman, full stop. No matter whether she is the best or not. They want special treatment and special favours and play the gender card at every turn. They and their ilk have been exposed, they are men-haters.

Will it cross the Atlantic? Well in many respects it already has, but not to this level. As covered on this site  previously (link), The Fawcett Society, The Commission of Equality and Human Rights and the two main political parties believe in promoting women over men in politics solely on the basis of gender, not their ability.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE - WATCH THE FIRST HEARINGS OF HOME AFFAIRS SELECT COMMITTEE ONLINE

As announced last year (link), the Home Affairs Select Committee would be holding an inquiry into domestic violence. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to make clear the dismal support that male domestic violence victims receive.

An number of men's organisations such as The ManKind Initiative, Men's Aid and Dewar Research submitted responses, though have not been asked to give oral evidence yet.

The first hearings start on Tuesday (tomorrow) 22nd January 2008. Appearing are:-

WOMEN-ONLY COURSES AND SPECIAL TREATMENT DAMAGING MEN

A report in the Daily Telegraph (link) stated "Men's chances of rising up the social scale in Britain have stalled because of greater competition from women and a slower rate of growth for top jobs, a study published yesterday reported. The research, by Oxford University, showed that upward social mobility has come to a halt despite Government reforms to tackle class inequality and offer opportunity for all.

Worse still for men, Labour's goal to promote "equality of opportunity" failed to mention that any increase in social mobility was likely to create as many losers as winners, with men losing out to the increasing number of women pursuing careers."

A link to the report's conclusions is here (link) and the authors were Dr John Goldthorpe and Dr Michelle Jackson from Oxford University.

One issue the report does not cover is the plethora of women-only training, management and leadership courses and whether this, alongside the feminisation of education that is condemning generations of boys to a life of under-achievement, is starting to have an affect.

These courses, normally promoted by senior women to give other women in their organisation an unfair advantage over men, or, by senior men browbeaten by the feminist fundamentalists/trade unions within their organisation, are a clear example of sexual discrimination in the workplace.

As ever, it treats people as if their gender is their primary trait so a talented and confident women gets to go on a women-only leadership course but an equally talented but shy man does not go on any course. Or the girl from Rodean goes but the boy from Brixton does not.

These academics ought to look into this as well.

BOYS EDUCATION IN CRISIS - FALLING MALE TEACHER NUMBERS AND POOR GCSE RESULTS

Two separate but inter-linking pieces of research were released just in the New Year.

The first research (featured in the Daily Mail - link) showed that "Fewer men are teaching in schools than at any time since records began and in one in ten primary schools there are no men on the staff at all. More than two out of three teachers are now women. Just 15 per cent of teachers in primary schools are men, down from 20 per cent in 1986. Men now make up 43 per cent of secondary teachers, down from 49 per cent in 1996 and 54 per cent in 1986."

At the same time and well covered on this site (link), the Daily Telegraph reported (link) "Barely a third of boys in comprehensive schools are gaining the GCSEs they need to obtain a job or stay on at school."

The dearth of male teachers means there are less male role models in school to engender the competitiveness and discipline that boys need in school. This can be made even worse when there is no father at home as Michael Gove, Tory schools spokesman said: "Fewer male teachers means fewer male role models for boys who may not have one at home."

The Government, which is belatedly concerned about this issue, are not doing enough and years of the feminisation of education has damaged the life chances of boys up an down the country. Boys, according to the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA), want to be taught by men (link) and they released a survey suggesting boys were more likely to disrupt lessons and neglect their work if taught by women.

More needs to be done, and remember, if it was girls being behind or there were fewer female teachers, then the Fawcett Society and Commission for Equality and Human Rights would be jumping all over this.

Yep, you got it and he even loses his appeal (link).

As featured on the Daily Mail's site (link) which asked for comments, one from Charles sums it all up:-

  We hear so many times about women destroying a mans clothes and possessions and they get a pat on the back - "you go girl" and all that bra burning garbage. The police are never involved and I would expect wouldn't want to be involved as it is a crime normally against a solvent man, so he is fair game.

Now it has happened to a woman and the police are in there like a shot. Even forensics science has been used. Haven't these politically correct police got anything better to do?

And as for the 'wife'. Not surprising her marriage is over now that the money has run out. What happened to "for richer for poorer"? It seems with a lot of women that is definitely not the case anymore.

EVEN LOTTERY FUNDING IS BIASED AGAINST MEN

Looking through a Lottery application form (link) for funding, this gem of male bias was found:-

Yep that's right - there is a tick box for women and girls but nothing for men and boys.

In this Government's pro-women, anti-male, target driven culture, even lottery funding gets a politically correct makeover.

It means there is an inherently biased funding criteria at play because if there was not, either there would not be a box just for women and girls, or, there would also be a box for men and boys as well.
