This site has raised the issue constantly about how the feminisation of education has blighted the educational chances of at least one to two generations of boys (link). The story is covered here (link) and (link).
In a new book, Dr Leonard Sax has produced a book called Boys Adrift (link) which explains that boys are lagging behind at school because of a combination of lessons which suit girls better, over-exposure to video games and a decline in male role models.
Dr Sax, the US academic, is calling for single-sex lessons throughout primary and secondary school to allow boys to learn at their own pace. This site has called for single-sex lessons, single-sex schools and the re-introduction of O-levels to help boys achieve just like they used to.
The family court system of course has its part to play, as it seeks to take fathers out of their children;s lives especially when it creates an adversarial environment and a refusal to enforce child contact orders.
The current status of boys can be seen here:-
Again, when is the Government and the educational establishment going to do something about it?
When girls were behind they pulled out all the stoops but because it is boys, they do not care. Boys education is infected with political correctness and boys are bottom of the pile.
I hear what you're saying. That's why I put my son into a boy's school - so they would move at his pace and he had a better chance of getting near the top of the pile. Because we all need to see that we CAN achieve - most boys in mixed schools can no longer see that so have given up.
But apart from single sex schools, what else can be done? Anyone?
We do need more male teachers but what else can be done? And it doesn't end there - in the workplace at the moment, most candidates we see are female and I'm now one man in an office of all women (not as cool as it might seem :)
Plus the women there are appointing people in their mould - female. But let's focus on what the answers are - let's turn this anger and disappointment into something positive.
