Press Release – January 30th, 2012.
Tom Martin v LSE's Gender Institute: Update
Tom Martin's sex discrimination lawsuit against Europe's largest gender studies department at The London School of Economics (LSE) has been delayed, a hearing now rescheduled for March 13th. Tom has given an interview for a programme on satellite news channel Press TV on 'the future of feminism', which awaits broadcast, and also, has recently been invited to take part in a debate at University College London (UCL), on the prevalence of misandry in academia and society, a date not yet set. Tom invites all other press and media to contact him directly: [email protected].
Tom thanks all 120 people from 9 countries who have now donated a total of £4013.25 to the legal fighting fund so far, and asks supporters to keep the donations coming in and the momentum going, by subscribing on twitter, facebook and youtube, and spreading the word in any other way they can for what could be a long, difficult, but ultimately game-changing awareness-raising and legal campaign.
Just a quick heads-up for those interested in this case, Press TV have had their licence to broadcast in the UK revoked, so they are no longer listed on Sky's EPG. I'm not sure if it's possible to access Press TV via the web, but as far as TV is concerned it's a no show.

This country is getting more like Stalin's Russia every day. Still, a lot of good news in there!

Good luck to Tom! Great guy.
I think gender politics have become so contentious that there's a lack of clarity.
We need a clear head to look at the different arguments. You can say that women were unequally treated in various ways (vote/owning property etc), but are we sure that the old gender roles were necessarily "wrong"? That seems to me to be a different argument, but people don't get that.
And there is no clear view on who IS getting the worst deal, men or women. Much evidence blatantly contradicts the credo of feminism that women are oppressed by the "patriarchy"
But try and talk any sense and one is sucked into the familiar war or words.

Quite apart from the legal issues, this case raises the related issue of hard-pressed taxpayers' money being spent to finance ideologically-driven feminist 'academics' and their Gender Studies / Women's Studies courses which teach hatred of men. I've just written an open letter to The Secretary of State for Education on the matter, it's on my blog (along with a number of my other recent open letters, including one to the Director-General of the CBI): http://fightingfeminism.wordpress.com.
I hope that I and one or two other authors critical of militant feminism won't be alone in travelling to London to support Tom Martin on 13 March, and hopefully attending the hearing? This could be the highest-profile opportunity to air criticism of militant feminists in many years, and I hope and expect there will be good press interest.
