Now I don't want to be accused of being the equivalent of a feminist McCarthyite...however, I was just catching up on Men's Hour and I have noticed a difference.
BBC Radio 4's Women's Hour is available via iPlayer for one year.
BBC Radio 5's Men's Hour is available via iPlayer for seven days.
Plus of course Women's Hour is six days per week all the time, whilst Men's Hour is once a week but not all the time. Though at least there is a Men's Hour when until about three years ago there was no such thing.
Anyhow, so here we have it, anyone wanting to listen to Women's Hour can do so for a year but you have to rush to hear Men's Hour.
The reason for mentioning McCarthyism is because there is always the risk of becoming over-paranoid like so many of today's modern-day feminists who see discrimination lurking in every shadow.
However, this is clearly a case of that unthinking day to day discrimination and misandry that men face.
Why does the BBC think Women's Hour should be one year but Men's Hour is only worthy of 1/52nd of the time. Covert unthinking discrimination against men that's why.
Time to complain to the BBC Trust.

PS At least with Women's Hour we can hear for a whole year the desperate voices of an 'academic' and Refuge trying to drown out male victims of domestic abuse
I've come to realise that the only way things will change is if people complain. It appears that life is geared more around evolving levels of acceptability rather than what is actually right or wrong. The only reason the media (which is the main culprit of influence on our 'blank canvas' generation of youngsters) gets away with such blatant misandry is because people simply don't complain enough about the portrayal of men. Feminism is only strong because women have evolved to feel and show emotion and collaboratively support each other. Men, on the other hand have evolved as tough, strong protectors and will willingly protect the female species at the expense of themselves. As such, women collectively complain about anything that shows disrespect towards them, like banning Nuts in tesco for example. Where as men don't complain about the plethora of women's mags that degrade and besmirch men or show men in raunchy, suggestive poses for the titillation of teenage girls (have a look and you'll see just how bad it is!). So the level of acceptability determines the outcome - Nuts gets banned and women's mags (or things like violent wrestling mags aimed at 7 year olds) pass unnoticed - anyone seen a Mother complain about those!?!.
The only surefire way of levelling up the playing field is if men (and women) start to complain to the media, shops, businesses etc. and even boycott products with a back-up email to the offending party. But before men will complain, they will need educating with respect to their awareness of male issues. I feel there are still far too few men who are aware of the damage feminism has done and they are so far gone in terms of indoctrination that there is little hope for many of them. However, the up-and-coming generation is going to bite back hard. If any young males are reading this, I suggest that you start complaining to all offenders when it comes to anti-male discrimination and ultimately help leverage the level of acceptability in favour of men. Cuz until you do, you're going to get pissed on from great heights!
Oh, and don't forget your right to vote tactically so that the main Government parties get the hint that men have had enough.
Voting and complaints guys - that's all there is to it!

By the way, can someone please explain to me what the phrase "full time mum" actually means?

Dave, I think WH is routinely available for a lot longer than a year on iPlayer. All the same, it's possible to capture the piece and then make it available indefinitely, and I'm grateful to MWM for doing this for us. I'm about to ask him to save 1:17 - 15:26 on the WH piece in preparation for a blog piece.
Is there any reason to WANT 'Men's Hour' to be saved at all, let alone for a week? Somehow I doubt it:

I don't trust Men's Hour that much in any case. I doubt that many men's equality campaigners do either. Tim Samuels gave
a radio interview recently on Today and said how keen & enthusiastic he was about feminism. So put it on Iplayer and youd likely just get double the crap we are given already.
