On sale on Waterstones (link) you can buy this piece of sexist junk:- 101 ways to castrate a man by Nomo Wenie. It is supposedly a joke book.

As Glenn Sacks (link), an American commentator says "One wonders if Waterstone's (UK), and others would proudly market a book describing how men can torture, stalk, and/or emotionally abuse their ex-wives". Exactly.

Could you imagine the outcry in feminist circles if such a book was published?

The BBC, The Guardian, EOC, The Fawcett Society and the Minister for Women would not be able to contain themselves.

But because its about men, then that's all right. Well done Waterstones.

 

PHILIP DAVIES MP REVEALS LIVINGSTONE SPENDS £50,000 FOR A WOMEN'S CONFERENCE

Philip Davies MP (link) wrote in March 2007 to London Mayor, Red Ken Livingstone, asking how much he had spent on women's conference capitalwomen which was part of the International Women's Day.

As the correspondence reveals via the Campaign Against Political Correctness site (link), it was £50,000 of London taxpayers money.

Ken Livingstone has previous on abusing taxpayers money by funding women-only events and of course, funding nothing for men. He also bans people from bodies because they are men (link).

Men in London can vote Livingstone out in next May's London elections.

BOW GROUP REPORT : THE FEMINISATION OF EDUCATION HITS BOYS

A key feature of this site has been the raising of the issue of how the feminsation of education has hit boys education (link). This trend has accelerated under this feminist anti-male government and shows why we need a Minister for Men.

Chris Skidmore has written an excellent report for The Bow Group highlighting the key statistics showing how decades of feminisation has proved costly for generations of men. The report availble on-line (link). It was also covered in the Sunday Telegraph (link) and (link).

The introduction states that the report is part of the Bow Group's Invisible Nation series, looking into groups whose situation is overlooked. Men certainly fall into that category.

The main findings of the report show clearly the damage that has been wrought, not just in terms of exams results but also in behaviourial matters. The main findings are:-

• 27% of boys- nearly 90,000 boys in total- do not gain a single good GCSE (a C grade or above);
• 21% of 14 year old boys have the reading age of a seven year old (level three or below);
• Only 21% of boys gain five good GCSEs including English, maths, science and a foreign language, compared with 31% of girls;
• Just 36% of boys stay on to take A levels, compared with 44% of girls;
• In the latest exclusion figures, boys accounted for 72% of all fixed period exclusions and 79% of all permanent exclusions.

2007 GCSE RESULTS SHOW BOYS NINE YEARS BEHIND GIRLS

Today's publication of the 2007 GCSE results (link) show that boys are at least nine years behind girls when it comes to reaching the standard C grade pass or higher in at least one exam. This continues the recent series of results showing similar traits - the result of decades of feminisation in the education system (link).

In 1999, pupils achieving a C pass or more in at least one GCSE were 60.2% for girls and 51.1% for boys. In 2007, it is 66.8% for girls and 59.7% for boys. So boys in 2007 are reaching circa the same standard as girls in 1999.

The feminisation is clear when comparing Maths and English Language. This year, in Maths, boys achieved 54.7% Grade C or above whilst girls achieved 55.9%. At English language though, the results are 55.1% and 69.0 respectively, a massive gap.

Why the big difference? It has to be in the way the subjects are taught and examined throughout the education system. Course work does not play to boys strengths and nor does the lack of competition or the lack of  male teachers at primary level.

Once again, this feminisation has led to another cohort of boys failing to achieve the grades they should get.

Nothing as ever, from the Labour government or the Equal Opportunities Commission on the plight of boys. It would be different if girls were behind.

FEMINISATION OF EDUCATION HITS BOYS A-LEVELS

The grim outcome of decades of feminisation in the education system was shown on the back of the A-Level results published today.

• 69.9% of boys reached grade C and above
• 75.2% of girls reached grade C and above

This is on the back of similar results for 11 (link) and 14 years olds (link) last week.

Out of 35 subjects (link), boys only did better than girls in French, German, Irish and Spanish.

The government have promised extra help for boys in reading and writing but this is far too little, far too late. Every year, boys are not achieving their potential because of an education system geared towards woman and not both sexes.

Where's the equality in this?

THE ILLEGALITY OF GIVING REDUCED OR FREE ENTRY FOR WOMEN BUT CHARGING MEN : NAME AND SHAME

Despite the fact that it is clearly illegal under the Sexual Discrimination Act (1975) to charge men entry fees to clubs, nightclubs still perists in this.

The Equal Opportunities Commission have a briefing available (link) and state clearly:-

If a nightclub tries to attract women with free entry or free or reduced price drinks but charges men fees and higher prices for drinks then this would be a breach of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 A man successfully challenged a wine bar's practice of charging men an entry fee but allowing women in free. A county court judge made a declaration that he had been discriminated against.

This site has received e-mails over the past six months complaining about this and trawling through the web, these places have been charging men but not women:-

Thai Square Nightclub, London SW1 : Women free entry on Fridays;

Julie's Nightclub, Newcastle : Ladies free on Tuesday and Wednesday, Men £3;

The Barracuda, Ealing : Ladies free before 10.30pm on Friday and Saturday;

The only remedy men have is to either complain directly to the club management or take a civil claim against the club. The EOC, whilst having advice, do not seem to want to take this up and support anyone through the courts, as they do on many other cases.

The book feminists and the health & safety mafia love to hate will be turned into a film (link).

The Dangerous Book For Boys was first published in the UK in May 2006, seling 900,000 copies in the UK alone and became a surprise best-seller. It offers instructions on how to make a catapult, build a treehouse and construct the best paper aeroplanes.

A book every son and father should have.

THE FEMINISATION OF EDUCATION CONTINUES TO HIT BOYS EDUCATION

The primary school results announced this week show that the feminisation of primary school education continues to affect boys education.

The results show that boys are far behind girls at reading but more alarmingly far behind at writing, whilst ahead in Maths. They are way behind overall with 56% reaching the required level as opposed to 65% girls.

What the education authorities need to urgently look at is why boys can beat girls at Maths but cannot at least be equal at reading and writing? This clearly points to a problem in the educational methods in primary schools which are not helping boys (link). It does not help that so few men teach in primary schools.

This is not a lowest common denominator call as no sensible person wants the system changed that saw girls' results fall so boys catch up. It just means that different teaching methods are needed for boys and girls and as this government keeps blathering on about personalising public services, then the education system needs to be personalised for boys (link) and O-Levels re-introduced (link).

The long term problem is that too many boys are going into secondary school ill-educated. It is hard for them to catch up and that is why their GSCE results are seven years behind girls and for every four boys going to university, there are five girls. 

BRISTOL CITY COUNCIL REPORT ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE : STUDY IGNORES MALE VICTIMS

In July, BBC Bristol (list) ran a story stating that domestic violence cost the city £28 million and that 8,000 women had been victims in the last few years.

To be fair to the BBC (though they had the usual picture of a man attacking a woman), this was based on a release (link) and a study (link) commissioned by Bristol City Council's Social Development Scrutiny Committee in Feb/Mar 2007.

The extent that male victims are ignored in the study can be clearly seen by these quotes in the report:-

"From national research (Walby & Allen, Home Office 2004), it is estimated that in Bristol there are nearly 40,000 women aged between 16 & 59 who have experienced some form of DVA. It is a problem which affects at least 1 in 4 women at some point in their lives, as well as some men."

The figure for men produced by Walby & Allen in the same Home Office report is 1 in 6 men (ie 40% of victims are men) so "as well as some men" shows a frivilous and almost begrudging recognition that Bristol men could be victims. It fails to give councillors the 1 in 6 figure, a crucial and purposely made ommission.

"Service providers in all sectors should ensure that access thresholds are set at realistic and consistent levels to ensure that women and children experiencing DVA are not excluded."

No mention of male victims, of course.

The following figures represent the costs of domestic violence towards women only...As the figures do not include DVA against heterosexual or gay men, they can be presumed to be an underestimate.

What is the point of producing figures if they do not include men, It would not take much more effort to include men.

The Commission recommends that the following needs identified by Scrutiny Commission witnesses should be addressed as priorities in any strategy process. Special attention to needs of : • BME communities • Same-sex relationships • Disabled people • Children • Genuine male victims

Could you imageine any DV report stating 'Genuine Female Victims', again a begrudging off hand attitude.

Some agencies do not recognise that a small number of men are victims of domestic violence and abuse, and agencies are not trained to distinguish genuine male victims from male perpetrators claiming to be victims themselves.

Again, imagine a report stating that agencies could not recognise genuine female victims.

This committee report whilst being forced to admit that male victims do exist in Bristol, its whole approach is off-hand, begrudging and it purposley ignored studying the impact on men and their families. A biased report in other words. Bristol male victims do not need to hold their breath for support from their council (see Men's Aid's conversation with Bristol Council here link).

WHY MEN WILL BE IGNORED BY NEW EQUALITIES CHAIRMAN TREVOR PHILLIPS.

The Trevor Phillips cat has been let out of the bag and it is an ominous sign for men.

Trevor Phillips, who is now chairman of the Commission for Equality and Human Rights (CEHR) supposedly blew a fuse recently and threatened to quit because Gordon Brown's Cabinet does not have enough people who are female and/or from an ethnic background (link) and (link). Ignoring the latter issue and concentrating on the former which is what this site is about,  Mr Brown lowered the number of women Cabinet members from eight to five.

Trever Phillips' outburst showed that he believes that filling gender quota's are a more important qualification for being in the Cabinet than ability.

Gordon Brown has picked the people he thinks are best for the job (including the first ever female Home Secretary link) but this will not do for the politically correct world that Trevor Phillips and his organisation inhabit (at taxpayers expense).

As Trevor Phillips, no doubt, will continue in this vein, there are two ominous signs for men.

Firstly, Trevor Phillips lumps all people into different victim groups (except men) so instead of treating people as individuals first, gender second, gender is more important. In Phillips' world a girl from Rodean (link) has less opportunity than a man from an inner city comprehensive.

Secondly, in pursuit of his gender quotas, it means he wants positive discrimination for women which means negative discrimination for men. He would want a man dropped from the Cabinet to be replaced by a woman solely because of their gender. This is sexist of course, but not in Trevor Phillips' eyes.

The CEHR, like it's predecessor the 'Equal' Opportunities Commission, can now be expected to give no support on issues surrounding forms of male discrimination, in fact, Trevor Phillips wants more of it.
