CRIES FROM ANTI-EQUALITY PENSION CAMPAIGNERS FALL ON DEAF EARS

So the coalition government looks like it will be standing up to the protests about bringing forward the gender equalisation of the state pension age to Nov 2018 from 2020. Good for them if they stand firm.

Just to recap, the old Labour Government wanted to equalise the state pension age to 65 in 2020, with an increase to 66 for both genders in 2026. Because the UK has run out of money the coalition government brought forward the 65 equalisation date to November 2018 and 66 in 2020. See the Chancellor's decision.

Since that decision the usual panopoly of women's groups, special interest groups and 'equality' groups have come out of the woodwork (dominating and today's headlines) decrying the decision.

Two interconnected thoughts.

One used throughout this site's commentary on the issue has been the fact that no one including AGE UK, SAGA or the oxymoronically named 'equality' groups, has said "isn't it great that 70 years of sexual discrimination against men is ending" - this after men were told to retire later than women in 1948.

The other is how men are sidelined and not even thought to deserve a voice or comment.

One of the arguments made about the unfairness to women is the fact they little time to prepare for this change in the bringing forward of retirement dates. This also applies to men in terms of moving the state pension age forward to 66 in 2020. No one mentions this - not even groups like Saga or AGE UK but they have a membership made up of thousands of men.

There is now a glaring lack of a loud coherent umbrella voice speaking up for male equality. Yesterday, some came out on the anti-father rant by Cameron but we shouldn't have to rely on Erin Pizzey. Today, there is no one speaking up for men on both how it effects them and also on the 70 years of discrimination issue. Often the only place this is expressed is in the comments section.

We need to organise guys but in a sensible umbrella balanced way and not in anti-feminist ranty way where the Palace is stormed and we succumb to the medium term downfall of many men's organisations which is a combination of ego, watsed time spent attacking feminism and people wanting to use organisations for their own ends.

The time is now nigh.

CAMERON WOULD NEVER ATTACK MOTHERS ON MOTHER'S DAY BUT HAPPY TO ATTACK FATHERS ON FATHER'S DAY

This morning I was going to put up a short note about Father's Day when I was sent two links (here and here) to an incredibly crass and awful attack on 'feckless' fathers.

Our Prime Minister David Cameron, who is presiding over a coalition government as anti-male as the last Labour government likens absent fathers to drunk drivers (since when do absent fathers kill people?) and society should heap shame on them. This is straight out of the anti-male male bashing Marxist feminist handbook.

Of course no one can support genuinely feckless fathers but what about feckless mothers - those that:

•  continually break court orders to deny children the chance to enjoy their father's support and company,
• that lie in the family courts (aided and abetted by solicitors and CAFCASS)
• who demand CSA (CMEC) payments while breaching the court orders 
• who abscond with their children abroad or set up with other men but still demand CSA payments
• who indulge in parental alienation and ensure they turn their children against their father
• mothers who have children to jump the housing queue 

The worse thing though is the fact Cameron used Father's day to attack fathers. Such crassness is unbelievable when so many will be enjoying time with their children and others in tears at home because they cannot see them due to the reasons above.

There will be men today who had pre-arranged time with their children and their mother would have rung this morning to say they cannot see their children with no plausible reason. The hatred and vindictiveness of these women is beyond the pale as is David Cameron's comments - no surprised he is attacked in the comments sections of the newspaper articles.

The litmus test is whether he would attack mothers on mother's day - of course not (and rightly so!) but he feels no shame in attack fathers on father's day.

WELSH IPCC DOES NOT RECOGNISE MALE VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE EITHER

In April the site commented that the Director of Public Prosecutions at the Crown Prosecution Service, Kier Starmer, did not recognise the existence of male victims of domestic abuse.

Now the Independent Police Compliants Commissioner for Wales, Tom Davies, does not either.

At a conference this week in Wales he makes no mention of their existence, only the existence of female victims. Welsh male victims do not exist according to the leader of the Welsh IPCC. No mention in the press release either and nothing on the BBC from the IPCC although the broadcaster does mention the increase in females arrested.

There was a session on male victims as mentioned here but if all victims of domestic abuse are to be recognised people like Davies cannot continue to ignore male victims. They must show leadership and stop ignoring a key number of victims because of their gender.

WOMEN'S JUSTICE TASKFORCE PROPOSES THE END OF BLIND AND EQUAL JUSTICE

One of the stories of last week was the story on the increase in the number of women being convicted of domestic abuse. The same week, the Women's Justice Taskforce, set out a report welcomed by the Ministry of Justice, that said women's prisons should close. The BBC also reported that the taskforce of self-appointed experts wanted a  director of women's justice to be appointed to provide "clear leadership and accountability". A Minister for Women is not enough.

The story was also in the Daily Mail (read the comments for illumination) and Independent and Mary Riddell in the Telegraph waded in with some rank hypocrisy of the highest order.

This is an issue that we have covered before but reports like this are unbelievably dangerous for men and society as whole. How can Britain possible ever claim to be a champion of equality and have equality before the law when there the justice system discriminates against genders.

The whole justice system is based on the tenet that justice is blind, but how can it be when she sneaks a look from behind the blindfold to check what the gender is of the prosecuted and then hands down the sentence accordingly. Prison for the man, community service for the women - even if the crime is the same.

That is what the Women's Justice Taskforce wants and believes in (do they want this woman out on community service?).

It is not equality of justice is it is discriminatory justice.

Is there no end to discrimination against men, special treatment for women and the undermining of the rule of law and equal justice.

GLAMORGAN CRICKET CLUB BREAK LAW OVER CHEAPER TICKETS FOR WOMEN

A few days ago the site highlighted women only swimming sessions on the council tax and of course this infamous picture, however, an eagle-eyed reader pointed out that Glamorgan Cricket Club had been running something similar which also included radio adverts about its Tom Jones night.

They obviously had complaints because when I revisited the site today, they had taken off the reference that it was £5 for ladies and £12 (£18 on the door) for anyone else (who could that be?).

However, perhaps it was because it was a past event but they forgot to go back and change the ticket information on their Take That Ladies Night. This clearly states that it is £5 for women and £12 for others (£18 on the night).

Howzat for another case of illegal sex discrimination against men.

HOW TO FIGHT SEX DISCRIMINATION AGAINST MEN IN COUNCIL RUN LEISURE FACILITIES

Yesterday's story about women-only swimming lessons prompted much comment and John Wallace conacted the site again to remind us how he fought the council and won. The post is worth revisiting here.

A number of people have pointed out the the Equalities and Human Rights Commission have argued that single sex sessions are legal:

"A local authority funds a leisure centre which runs single-sex swimming facilities for women. This is unlikely to be unlawful sex discrimination because the Sex Discrimination Act allows facilities to be restricted by sex where the potential user-group would be seriously embarrassed by the presence of the opposite sex, or where the users are likely to be in a state of undress."

While this may mean there is a legal get out, it is still discriminmation especially if men have no similar sessions. It is also likely to be discriminatory if no research has been carried out to justify this.

SEXIST WOMEN-ONLY SWIMMING SESSIONS FOUND ALL OVER THE UK

A recent post pointed out by Lindsey (see bottom of this post) pointed out the discrimination at Urmston Leisure centre  whereby her husband was banned from going swimming with her. This is in the borough of Trafford, who also have the ban on man in the Sale Leisure centre as well. As outlined in a recent post on Colchester where they have women-only saunas, this everyday story of male discrimination on the council tax never really goes away, despite the fact that it is clearly illegal.

It is in breach of the sex discrimination (now subsumed into the Equality act 2010) but as the Equalities and Human Rights commission's own guidance shows - it is illegal (here and here). Even if it was legal it is still discriminatory and immoral.

So anyway I thought I'd do a Google search to see who else apart from Oxford  and Bristol so here is a list:

Crawley,  Wandsworth ,Birmingham,  Croydon , Hull, Derby, Sheffield , Watford, Epsom & Ewell, Liverpool, Plymouth, Birmingham ( a petition to have more!!), Stretford again, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Wolverhampton, Bradford, Brent, Glasgow, Reading, Middlesbrough, Rotherham, Slough, Islington, Newcastle, Leeds University, Nottingham, Waltham Forest, Camden, Cardiff, Coventry, Leicester, Brighton and Hastings (this council said they will black out the windows!!).

This was just after 8 pages on Google and thought I'd better stop else I might be there all night. Even the national swimming organisation has no problem with it and encourage women to find womne-only sessions.

What this does show is that councils seem to see it as no problem at all to hold women-only swimming sessions even though it breaks the law and discriminates against men. Men who of course pay their council tax too.

Is there no end to the discrimination against men and no end to the general acceptance that is OK.
